How do I move Grade items or Categories in the gradebook?
You will learn how to move an individual Grade item or Category within the gradebook, as well as how to move multiple Grade items into a different Category.
1. Click on the Grades link in the Administration block.
Click the Grades link in the Administration block to access the gradebook. The Administration block is by default the first block in the left-hand column of your course main page.
2. Click to expand Setup and click on Categories and Items.
3. To move a single Grade item or Category
3.1. Click the Move icon.
Locate the Grade item (or Category) you would like to move, click the Move icon which is located to the left of the Grade item or Category.
3.2. Click on a dotted rectangle to move the Grade item or Category.
The word (Move) will appear next to the Grade item or Category to be moved. Dotted line rectangles will appear in the possible locations where the item can be moved. Click inside the dotted line rectangle to move the item to that location. The page will refresh showing the item in the new location.
Tip: You can cancel the move anytime by clicking the Cancel button at the bottom right corner of the page.
Tip: If you move a Category that contains Grade items and/or sub-categories, all of the Category's contents will also be moved to the new location.
4. To move multiple Grade items
4.1. Mark the appropriate check boxes in the Select column.
4.2. Choose the name of the Category.
Scroll down to the bottom of the page. Using the drop-down menu called Move selected items to, choose the category where you want to move the selected Grade items.
