How do I add a Grade item (a column) to the gradebook?
You will learn how to create a Grade item within the gradebook (Grades) in your course in TITANium. You can create a Grade item from within the gradebook for offline assignments, such as for a face-to-face assignment or exam.
Follow these steps to create a Grade item from within the gradebook.
1. Take a look at the grade item breakdown in your syllabus.

2. Enter your course in TITANium.
Below is a sample course.
3. Click on the Gear icon.
4. Select Gradebook setup.
5. The Gradebook setup page will display.
This is the main page where you will do all of your creation of grade items, categories (folders) and aggregation methods (we'll do "Natural" aggregation which is summing the grade points). You can also create custom calculations, set a category to drop the lowest grade, and create a category which deducts points rather than adding points.
6. Click on Add Grade item.
7. Type a title for the first grade item.
You can type pretty much any text you want, but if you have plans to export the gradebook to Excel, and/or import grades from Excel, then it is recommended to not use any symbols, like !@#$%^&*(), etc.
8. Type the maximum number of points possible.
9. Click on Save changes.
Locking the grade or creating a lock after date is not recommended because it is not uncommon for a faculty member to create such a date, then when they try to grade this Grade item, they find it is locked. They don't remember that they locked it.
10. We now have our first Grade item in the Gradebook setup page.
Note that the Course Total is now not 0 but 25.
Follow these steps to edit this grade item. Let's say for example that you want to add a Grade to pass to this grade item. A Grade to pass is useful if you are using Activity Completion within the course or you simply want students grades to display in the Grader report as either red (didn't achieve the Grade to pass) or green (did achieve the Grade to pass).
1. Click on Edit.
2. Select Edit settings.
3. Click on Show more...
4. Type a value for the Grade to pass.
5. Click on Save changes.
11. Use the dropdown menu to select Grader report.
12. The Grader report page displays.
There are several functions you can perform within the Grader report page. You can enter student grades in existing grade items, you can view the student grades at a glance, and you can easily navigate to other pages within the Grade administration module.
