How do I set up and use the Messages block?

You will learn how to use the Messages block to send a Message (or email) to a student in your course. The Messages module has certain limitations. You can only send a plain text message (internally within TITANium) or a plain text email (to the student's CSUF email account). The Messages block can be added to the My home page or to any course main page. To set up and use the Messages block on the My home page, follow these steps:

1. Enter your course in TITANium.

2. Click on Customize this page.

3. Scroll down the page to the Add a block module.

4. Select Messages from the list.

This Message is limited to plain text. You cannot change the Subject of the Message.

The message is sent to the student according to the student's settings in the Configure notification methods for incoming messages page. By default, the Message module sends the student a plain text email to their Cal State Fullerton student email account. However, a user in TITANium has the option to stop receiving Messages or email.
