How do I add a group override for a Quiz?

You will learn how to add a group override for a quiz in your course. A group override is the best way to accommodate a group of students with different needs, such as (1) a different password, (2) different open and close dates, (3) a different time limit, or (4) a different number of attempts.

Follow these steps after you have already created a quiz and created groups in your course.

1. Enter your course in TITANium.

2. Click on the link to your quiz.

3. Click on User overrides in the Administration block.

Note: User overrides can be set for each individual student. Group overrides are for groups of students.

The conditions which can be changed for a group of students are as follows:

Require password: You can set a password, change the new password, or remove the password for this group.

Open the quiz: You can set an open date if desired.

Close the quiz: You can set a close date if desired. Keep in mind that a close date will effect the Review options section on the Quiz edit settings page.

Time limit: You can have a different time limit (or none at all).

Attempts allowed: Select 1-10 or unlimited attempts.

Change one or more of the conditions.

7. Click on Save.
